Top students of senior general secondary education and pre-university education

In the Worldschool Junior Academy top students from the Dutch secondary education work together with top students from developing countries. The students are working in an international research team for the governments in developing countries. The research is meant to stimulate development. The participating students visit each other, and during these visits, they will follow an intensive study programme meant as support for their own research.
Students present the results of their research to the governmental organisations in the developing country or developing area. Students will earn the Worldschool Junior Academy Certificate that is co-signed by the client’s representatives.

The foundation of the Worldschool Junior Academy was started by the Worldschool team with four schools from the network. The principals of the schools will form the board of directors of a foundation that is meant for the financial aspect of the trips and accommodations of the participating students and also for the management of the Junior Academy. Together with contact persons of the schools, the Worldschool team will undertake the study trips in order to establish the intended collaboration with schools and governmental organisation, at the moment in Uganda, Burkina Faso and The Gambia.

Members of the project team will participate in preparation visits to schools and (governmental) organisations in Africa, starting off in Uganda, Burkina Faso and The Gambia. The team will be active on:
– collecting assignments from governmental organisations;
– inviting African and Dutch partners to the student study program;
– setting up and executing student intake (application procedure).
– organizing exchanges; routing, housing etc.
– setting up the digital learning environment for multinational teams.
