I joined the Worldschool Ambassadors Program because I'm always passionate about working for a positive social impact. Coming from a middle class family in an emerging country like China, educated in a developed country in Holland, and haviong worked in developing countries like Ghana and Sri Lanka, I understand the fact that teenagers from relatively wealthy families are eager to gain knowledge beyond their own culture and that they are enthusiastic about changing situations through innovative approaches. However, the regular education systems usually do not introduce such opportunities to school classes, and there is a lack of social responsible organizations that are able to assign projects to teenagers in real life. The position of Worldschool Ambassador helps me to provide Dutch students with opportunities to practice on projects that are taking place in developing countries, and helps them to gain an idea of how projects in developing countries work.
