“I was interested in the Worldschool activities because as a professional teacher, it’s my responsibility to be a link in knowledge and share amongst the young generation across the globe. The activities of the Worldschool fit well within the Millennium Development Goals especially reducing poverty & hunger and developing partnerships. As an ambassador, I will work with the students in the Netherlands to develop projects (knowledge sharing) with the grassroots communities in Kasese district, Western Uganda to contribute to the MDGs 1 and 8 (End poverty & hunger/ start global partnership).
I want to be the mouth piece for the vulnerable groups who, for one reason or another, did not have the chance to go to school but can use their indigenous knowledge to make innovations. My task is to repackage the ideas developed at the grassroots level, share them with the Worldschool students to carry out further research on the ideas developed at the local level. This is for purposes of giving such indigenous knowledge an international coverage.” |
