Welcome to IHS and ISS students

In the Worldschool Consultancy, Research and Design programme Dutch (secondary school) pupils from all over the country work as “international advisors”: they perform research and design activities for international providers. All assignment providers work and or live in a developing country, ranging from Mexico to Tanzania and from Ghana to Indonesia. They are either from small-scale development organisations or they are so-called “local representatives”: representing a village in another country.

The Dutch pupils do these assignments as part of the school curriculum, mostly in their final year. However, they can choose (partly) what the curriculum consists of. All Worldschool pupils participate in the Worldschool CRD programme voluntarily because they see an added value. As one pupil put it: “we are working for real people on real assignments, and it is useful what we are doing.”

You are welcome to visit the Worldschool Event 2011.

At the Worldschool Event 2011, students from secondary schools in the Netherlands present the results of their work to task providers, to other students and to experts like you! All the presentations and discussions will be in English.

After each presentation there is time to discuss the results with the students. As an expert you will participate in the discussions, positive, constructive, interested, critical regarding content but in a pleasurable and involved manner.

For you this is a wonderful oppportunity to get to know young Dutch people and to see their efforts in improving little bits of the world. For our students this is a wonderful opportunity to discuss with cultural experts from far away countries. You will visit the old townhall of the city of Gouda (not far from Rotterdam or The Hague):
