7. Financing the project

How to finance the Worldschool?

Participating in Worldschool CRD costs €2000,- a year. Please view step 6 of the guided tour to find out what services Worldschool provides in return. Schools have various possibilities for financing it.

1. Budget for professionalisation
Worldschool makes possible authentic learning and active learning and offers teachers an environment in which they learn to practice these forms of education. Worldschool also offers the additional courses.

2. Subsidy for internationalisation
The costs for Worldschool CRD are eligible via the subsidy regulation “Bevordering internationalisering” Here is the link to this regulation on the website of CFI:
http://www.cfi.nl/public/websitecfi/default.aspx?destination=$CFI-ONLINE/ocwregelingen/2009/05/ib2009114682_internationalisering_po_en_vo.asp
Worldschool CRD is in our opinion in line with internationalisation of the curriculum. It’s explained more precisely on pages 4 and 5 of the regulation. This includes in any case: 2a continuing education activities such as but not limited to: participating of teachers in Worldschool days and at the Worldschool Event.  Also 2d enhanced foreign language education such as but not limited to: English in PWS and PO publications for providers of assignments, meetings with foreign experts and during the Worldschool Event.
3. Internationalisation, school budget
Many secondary schools see internationalisation as a corner stone of their education and also keep a budget for it. It is possible that the regulation under point 2. is already in use (it is impossible to apply twice for it) but in that case Worldschool CDR also provides a strong contribution to the internationalisation of a school and the global citizenship of its participating students and teachers.

4. PR of the school
Worldschool CRD helps profiling your school as an educational institution with open paths to the world and a global network. Many students and their parents will be excited about this. The team of Worldschool provides basic texts about the activities for local newspapers. As part of Worldschool’s digital service the school can put together its own well-designed research magazine. And last but not least, students will make achievements in their work, worthy of making public on the school website.

5. TTO Budget
Schools with a TTO department will kill two birds with one rock. Effective involvement in global problems goes along side with functional English language development. For the TTO department there is almost per definition a budget for projects with such a double function.

6. Exellentieprogramma’s
Schools with an exellence programme and an associated budget also use Worldschool CRD as an extra stimulance for students taking part in the programme. Worldschool CRD stimulates students to produce high standard work. In an exellence programme high standard achievements certainly can be expected.

7.MaS
Worldschool CRD can also be used for MaS (Maatschappelijke Stage) on the condition that students connect to a small-scaled developmental organisation operating from the Netherlands. The compensation for this “stage” can be used for the Worldschool CRD.

8. Profession choice
By involving universities to the work of students there is a clear contribution to the choice of profession of vwo students on a universitary study, doing research and more in general in working as a scientist. Worldschool CRD facilitates contacts with scientists and organises student days on universities. Annually Worldschool CRD organises a student congress, set up like a scientific congress, the so-called Worldschool Event. The school can choose to participate with the Worldschool Research Magazine. Students then write as final ending to their work a scientific article which will be published on the Worldschool website.
